7 Tips before buying Action Figures Toys

Collectible action figures are the most sought after toys in the market today. There is a vast range of variations available in different shapes and sizes. Millions of people keep action figures toys for their own various reasons.

Here are some of the best tips to begin you collection and then to keep them in the best condition for a long time.

The Tips –

1. Before Collecting, Be Clear About the Purpose –

You need to narrow down the specific reason when it comes to collectible action figures. First you have to decide clearly whether you are doing this to make money or you are going to share your collection with a child? Or you just want to collect to have fun? Whatever the reasoning is, you should determine how to proceed. For instance, collecting action figures toys for money will entail more research than just collecting to present to your children to complete a set.

2. Hunt for the Figures -

Searching for the action figures is a long process for the collectors. You can start with the local department stores trying new figures. You can also find older figures that have been thrown into the trash. Flea markets are a great place to hunt for older figures. Also you can find the old toys in the yard sale for cheap prices. But, the carded figures can be rarely found in yard sales.

3. Internet – The Vast Search Resource Deep

There is a huge collection of collectible action figures on the internet. Simply type what you need on the auction sites and you will see hundreds of results. Internet is a great way to get carded busts, one can find international and rare figures and also some people sell parts or their entire collection. This saves your time and money specially when you look for a new series of action figures toys and a longtime keeper wants to get rid of his old collection. Another best possible place is the toy collectors’ magazines to look for the figures. You can get information on how to get short-packed, rare and different toys that you might not know about before. Many collectors like a particular series very much and they buy two units of the same statue – one to play and one to store. The collectible action figures should be preserved carefully. The bust should not be taken “off the card” (cardboard backing). When you separate the toy from its packing, you actually devalue the figure a bit. However, also when you store packed action figures toys, it takes more space and thus not much room is left for the display. So, buying one or more units of the same figure is totally up to the collector.

6 Mint Action Figures – To Buy or Not?

The pros and cons of buying mint collectible action figures depends on the purpose whether you by them to increase the value or for the simple enjoyment to own one. Well, take the pro side first, it is mint and need maintenance only to keep it good. There is a certain value and it is really easy to determine. Mint figures can be new or old. Old mint action figures possess a higher status in the collection.

And on the con side, when you buy it from a collector it means that you have already spent what you can get out of it. Also whether that figure is new or vintage it will take long time to realize the monetary value and there is no guarantee for the increase in the value. Items of different kinds become rare just when there are available in small quantity. And when all owns the same item, it becomes common and then the value is not that good.

7. Do No Go Over Budget –

Just because a particular figure is priceless, it does not mean that you have to spend it all on that piece. So, check your budget before you buy action figures toys, you will not regret the purchase later. Whether it is your favorite action figure or not, always keep in mind that you never cross your budget line. There is no point in spending a big part of your cash only on a particular figure when you can have more different statues in the same price. Also, if you have more figures, it will make your collection much bigger than your friends.

High School Musical Star Soars to New Heights

High School Musical star Corbin Bleu has recently risen to a different level as he joined a number of teachers to literally go into weightlessness. Believing that science is fun and not just for geeks, the young star teamed up with The Northrop Grunman Foundation of Los Angeles to celebrate 50 years in space. As part of his participation, he joined the teachers as they lifted off the ground and conducted other experiments which were designed to test Newton’s Laws of Motions.

The teachers, along with Bleu, were taken up in a plane where they experienced no gravity. The modified plane also allowed the other passengers to move around and conduct their experiments.

“You literally can spin around and flip and do anything, like push off the wall and go flying across the room like Superman,” Blue explained to TVGuide later.

After their experience, the teachers went back to their classrooms, sharing their learnings and photos of the event with their students. The organizers of the event aimed to increase the interest in science among children, with the help of Corbin Bleu, a popular figure in that age bracket. Blue added that the organization approached him with this offer, as they believed that he was a good role model who could promote science and math to students.

In addition, TVGuide asked Blue for some tidbits on the upcoming High School Musical 3.

“It’s really going to be nice to go back for one last hurrah and then just finish up the whole High School Musical phenomenon,” he said.

Currently, there has been no script produced yet, but the basic idea will revolve around the students’ senior year at East High.

Once the final High School Musical film is over, Bleu will be looking forward to pursuing other projects that will be different than what he has done before. His upcoming film, Metal Burning, is about a teenager who supports his family, subsequently developing an interest in Motocross. Bleu also aspires to become a producer aside from being an actor.
